If you are not certain how Tribal Financial Advisors can help your Tribe, please see the examples below of how we are working with other Tribes today.

Examples Of Our Work

General Financial Assessments and Strategic Financial Planning

  • We are working on a comprehensive financial model for a Tribe to assist the Tribal Council in determining how healthy the Tribe is financially.  Working with various enterprise entities, we are coordinating inputs to the financial model, testing assumptions and then making sure that the various debt agreements, and potential and required refinancings, are factored in appropriately.
  • We are working with a Tribe that has a per capita plan that has become too expensive to maintain.  We are building a market-based forecast model that outlines various refinancing alternatives so that Tribal Council can understand the implications of the proposed changes to the per capita program in the future.
  • We are engaged by a consortium of Tribes to assist in their fight of a legislative effort in their state to authorize a competing type of gaming operation.

Refinancing of Existing Debt and New Financing Needs

  • We are assisting a Tribe that has not borrowed any significant amount of money in the past to secure a credit facility from a group of banks.  We are assisting in the negotiation of terms and seeing that the documentation is structured to ensure maximum flexibility for the Tribe.
  • We are advising a Tribe that is seeking BIA-guaranteed financing through the entire process of their capital raising:  modeling, council presentations of financing alternatives, negotiation of term sheets, negotiation of engagement agreements, BIA package preparation, rating agency presentations and investor marketing conversations.
  • We are assisting a Tribe to monetize future revenues from untapped natural resources to help improve today the health and conditions of the Tribe and its people.

Renegotiating and Restructuring of Existing Debt

  • We are working with a Tribe as it restructures its debt agreements.  We are the center post for all financial modeling and forecasting.  We also have the responsibility for advising the Tribe on the bank portion of their debt.  We communicate on a daily basis with the Tribe's finance team, and as required with Tribal Council, to ensure their priorities are being met as we work with the lenders, counsel and other advisors to structure an amended deal acceptable to the Tribe.
